A Simple Way to Start Again (Without Pressure or Overthinking)

On This Page

There’s something about the beginning of a new month that makes us want to reset everything.

Start fresh.
Get organized.
Do better.

But most of the time, that pressure backfires.

Because starting over doesn’t require a full life reset.
It just requires a place to begin.

If you’ve been feeling off, behind, or just not like yourself lately—
you’re not alone.

And more importantly, you’re not as far off track as you think.

Start Smaller Than You Think

We tend to overestimate what it takes to get back into rhythm.

We think we need:
A new plan
More discipline
A better system

But research shows something different.

Small, manageable actions are far more effective at creating consistency than trying to change everything at once. When something feels achievable, we’re more likely to start—and starting is what builds momentum.

Why I Created the 15-Minute Reset Method (A Personal Story)

What reinforced this for me even more was going through the LAUNCH work with Mel Robbins; I actually was in the program while she was developing what is now known as The Let Them Theory.

One of the biggest takeaways was simple:

You don’t wait until you feel ready.
You start before you feel ready.

And just as important…
you let go of trying to control everything around you.

That shift stayed with me. She introduced me to just 15 min day practice and I truly found out I hated social media posting.

Because it aligns with what I’ve experienced over and over again;
clarity doesn’t come from overthinking.
It comes from taking one small step and letting that be enough.

What “Starting Again” Actually Looks Like

It’s not dramatic.

It doesn’t require hours of planning.

It looks like:

Sitting down for 15 minutes
Clearing your mind
Choosing one thing that matters

That’s it.

There’s also a reason this works.

Studies on mental fatigue show that short, intentional breaks can improve focus, reduce overwhelm, and help reset your mental load.

And if you’re feeling stuck, this is where most people start:

Let Go of the Pressure to Do It Perfectly

You don’t need to “do this month right.”

You don’t need a perfect routine starting today.

You just need a moment where you choose to begin again.

Without pressure.
Without overthinking.

A Simple Reset for Today

Take 15 minutes.

Research consistently shows that small, repeated actions create lasting change far more effectively than big, unsustainable resets.

Ask yourself:
What would make today feel more in control?

Then do just that.
